I was in a mood that weekend. My pregnant body does NOT enjoy the process of traveling the way that my normal self does, and so if I were to be honest with myself, and after watching my camera bag fall nine feet off an overloaded trolley at the airport on my way to Charlotte, I was marinating in a good does of surliness.
I had the pregnant cranky pants on. These pants, well, they are special. They sneak up on you and suddenly you look down and all you see are cranky pants, and unlike normal cranky, it feels like there’s no end in sight. I was honestly a little worried that I’d be so unpleasant to be around once I headed over to Alicia and Eric’s.
Alicia and Eric are filled with a joyous light. They found each other, and to be near them, you can viscerally feel the sense of miraculousness they feel toward each other. It was like feeling sunshine for the first time in days, and I can’t tell you how much their joy in each other lifted my spirits. So thank you both so much! I had so much fun with you and easily forgot all my petty troubles in your company!
