It was the day before Mother’s day, and I was so grateful for the chance to catch up with Sarah, who I haven’t seen since my high school days, and who has since multiplied with her husband Kamran, into a beautiful little rambunctious family.
Meeting the children of people I once knew as a young person has a whole new meaning to me now. It was the end of our session, and we took a moment to take a few shots of Sarah and Kamran alone. Their eyes were hard to focus on one another as their son tripped in the grass and their daughter ran further away. We never get to do this anymore, they laughed. It was a brief moment, and there in the stillness of that moment I could see they loved each other like new under all the distraction that two small children can muster. Or maybe not like new. Maybe love like earth that sits beneath the beautiful swirling storms of small children. This family is beautiful.
