Judy + Michael

I can’t imagine a better time than to post this lovely session of my dear friends, Judy and Michael. You may remember them from their spectacular wedding in Greece last year! We were all so busy that summer that we just couldn’t swing an engagement session before the wedding, so we decided to make it work this summer.

This is Great Barrington. This is the town where I’ve lived for the past year, the one I’m leaving for California in seven days. I’ve been wanting to do a session here, but most of my work is still based in New York. Judy and Michael were kind enough to make it out to the country and we spent a lovely weekend eating too much pizza and playing with Minion, their fur baby. GB is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever lived, and I’ll miss it. But that’s because right now, it’s paradise. Every day lingers in the mid seventies and there is a temperate breeze that eases through the valley. There are swimming holes galore, farm stands, fine restaurants, regal and historic houses, and plenty of history. If all this were not to descend into temperatures below 20 degrees for half the year, I might have a mind to stay a little while longer. But alas, we pack our things to leave this place on the precipice of it’s paradise.

So, what better moment than to show you my current home town, my dear friends who are from California, as we close in on their first anniversary! Oh! And don’t you love her pink dress? It’s the last one left at her dress shop!

This is Minion waiting for her chance to be in the spot light!

Tara + Max

Love is beautiful. There was a point in this blog, where at every post I would talk about how awesome my job is. And I definitely still feel that way, just as in love with my occupation as I ever was. But weddings pile up, and surrounding me are a thousand tasks, and the words escape me. So this is just a reminder. Tara and Max are beautiful. Tara is of Bengali (like me!!) Swedish heritage. Have I mentioned I get inappropriately excited when I meet Indian/White people, because I feel it’s a rare glimpse into the future of my unborn children?? And Max loves her so much. And she loves him. And I am dumbfounded that this is my life. There are so many people in the world and sometimes love feels overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like it should be overrated because it’s so everywhere. But that’s because it’s everything. And each and everyone of us loves differently, experiences love in different ways, and it’s as miraculous as it is that we are all so many, yet so unique. So, yeah. I still feel really lucky, and I still feel blessed that I have amazing clients who open their hearts to me so that I can get in there, take a look around, and tell stories of the journey I take through the love of two people.  Love. Washington DC. Yum.

Engagement!: Shannon and Damion

She knew it was coming. She knew that the ring had arrived. And so the only option he had was to fake her out. It was the perfect day – they had already met with me, but the actual proposal part hadn’t taken place yet, so there really wasn’t any doubt… they were spending the day at Coney Island, her mother and her Aunt from Norway would be in town the following evening and it would make for perfect timing to announce some… ahem… big news…

I thought I’d do it next weekend he cried! And she was not a happy camper. They mounted the famous Cyclone roller coaster, and she was not happy about his seeming unromanticness. Will you marry me! He cried as the coaster came underway! Surprised – yes! she cried, but he couldn’t hear her. Anyway, sometime before the old coaster had their way with them, they were engaged, and somehow she managed to find a ring on her finger by the end of the tumultuous journey. And then they came to meet me in Central Park (this was a couple days later, of course.)
