Inspiration!: Ashley and Andy, part deux

This is part deaux. Soon there will be a part trois, and that will be some photos from the 8 rolls of film I took with a rented Contax 645, and I am very, very excited. In the meantime, here is some more awesomeness to wet your palate!

And of course, the amazing veils were provided by Dorene at Unveiled Bridal Designs. She’s amazing! Both of the veils featured here are custom creations Doreen made herself from a couple of my own rudimentary drawings. I left it up to her to choose the feathers, and the colors of the bronze veil. If you are looking for a veil, especially something custom, make sure you call her!

And P.S…. GO VOTE!!!!

Punam, these are absolutely stunning!! x

nice, nice, nice! great mood

I keep coming back to these, Punam. Probably one of my favorite shoots shoots ever.

Tasha

Wow, these are sublime! Do you use filters to get these amazing colours? The darkening in the foreground looks a little like a graduated neutral density filter (not that I am too geeky!!). Would love some tips if you would mind giving them as I am going to be photographing at my sisters wedding in May and these photos just blow me away!!!

Laura

Punam, seriously these pics are some of your best work.. and dorene is amazing she did my veil in 2007 for my wedding..

indie

I love her netted veil! She is beautiful. Astounding pictures. Give us more! :]

Cynthia

YOU ARE PHENOMENAL, AMAZING. THE PICTURES are INTIMATE, INSPIRED, TIMELESS!

Punam, these pics are absolutely amazing. I keep coming back to look at them and sigh! (Or maybe just to wish I were as lovely as Ashley and had such cool clothes….!) Glad to hear they’ve been featured elsewhere ’round the Web … they deserve to be seen!

Wow, Punam. Andy & Ashley’s entire set…your best shoot yet, IMHO.

Just…WOW. Stand-alone art, every image is.

Congrats. :)

Yay! A little bit about the outfits – Andy is sporting a suit (hat and shoes) of Husbone origins, articles he’s collected from various vintage outlets throughout his travels across the country, some stuff he was getting rid of to make room for new suits. That tie there is my Husbone’s very own wedding tie! Thought the suit was a bit big on Andy, he has a bit of classic Buster Keaton about him, and it suited him well (pun not intended!). Ashley is wearing a Nicole Miller dress (with the bronze veil) that I wore to my internet sitcom premier, many years ago. The orange polka dot dress I bought in Portland, OR 8 years ago at Red LIght for $12 and it was the best $12 I ever spent! And the green and black polka dot dress is Ashley’s own, from working as a fit model for Fire Jeans. It was so much fun to be able to design this shoot myself with stuff I don’t get to wear very often! If I could bring myself to ever remove my amazing wedding dress from it’s archival (giant) box, I think I might use it for something like this soon…

AAAAAAUUUUHHHHMAZING. and beyond. totally perfect couple…style…images. everything.

Andy Cisneros

Clap clap clap clap clap <—- this is me giving you a standing ovation. Good work Punam.

That first image is with a 50 1.2, and the thick fog over the beach in the background certainly helped. Thanks for everyone’s amazing words!

You amaze me, you really do. I normally don’t ask gear questions, but would you mind telling us what you used (lens-wise) for these shots, especially the first one?

Your work is simply amazing! I love seeing what you do with every shoot. I couldn’t contain myself any longer, I just had to let you know. PS: I voted!

Pure magic! When through the images on one breath and had to remind myself to take another. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE your work!

You images just amaze me!!

Inspiration!: Ashley and Andy, part I

Sigh. What. A. Trip. To sail roads in this amazing land a second time was nothing less than everything I could have ever hoped. I prayed to the photography gods… may I have sun dappling through the canopies, and fog smoldering the beaches! I really don’t know what I did to deserve this. I am in a constant state of sighing whole heartedly. It was amazing to reconnect with an old and distant friend, to see how happy he is to be with this lovely young woman. Andy and Ashley make me understand more fully, the expression about stars in their eyes. Wow. And here is some of that starry eyed loveliness, as told by the landscape of these thousands of years old trees, and these million year old pieces of earth. And this is only part one. Wait till we make it to the shore (coming soon!) I just had so many darn pictures, I didn’t want to clutter them with the sheer volume in one post. And so.

Inspiration(a preview)!: Ashley and Andy

I awoke one morning in recent days, and I was moved by how quickly time has gone by. This year has been one utterly amazing, unbeleivable blur, and I am in a constant state of awe at the state of my life. It’s been a while since I’ve shared. It’s been a while since things got personal.

I’m a west coast girl in my heart. (ps. I don’t charge for travel for ANY weddings in the 48 states) because I enjoy seeing the country… wait!… I so very and deeply long for it. I like change. I like to photograph many different people, many different loves of lives, many different places in which to celebrate such pinnacle joys. Once upon a time, I drove through the most beautiful land I’ve come to know in this beautiful country of ours. And being a photographer of amazing people, I felt a bit of that longing for some amazing love to place in rectangles among the forests that are too beautiful to believe, here in the home of my heart. The great state of California.

These are my friends Ashley and Andy. I’ve known Andy since high school. I’ve known Ashley since yesterday. And what joy their various expressions for each other have brought me. Theirs is a sweet, warm, sincere and passionate love. And as I write this barely holding up my sleepy head in Petaluma, I am immersed awe. This is what I get to do. AND I have the best Husbone in the world (I miss you!). So I bring to you the first (second – though I hereby dub thee!:) Inspiration: Andy and Ashley (a preview).

Punam, I just discovered your work today and I am IN LOVE with your style. You are so incredibly talented, you should be at least 10 times more famous than you already are. I’m going to go ahead and call it now, you’re going to be the next big thing. Hopefully a year from now I can say I told you so. I adore your work, you are without a doubt one of the most talented photographers I have ever seen, and I am not easily impressed at all. I wish you the best of luck :)

Wow, I love these pics Punam! Esp the second one – so creamy and the DOF is wonderful. I was told to check your work out by Ryan Jensen and I’m so glad I did! You have lovely style…and shout out to another NYC photographer :) Thanks for the inspiration.

Cynthia

great pictures-they have a magic, other-worldly feel to them! enchanting and romantic!

Jen

Wow Punam! I can’t wait to see the rest. I absolutely loved the redwoods when I traveled to Cali. It has such an amazing energy flowing through it.
